*– Says he is ready to face consequences if found guilty, but warns of legal action if allegations are proven false*

*Bengaluru, May 7:* Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, must issue a public apology for making false allegations against Urdhva Management Private Limited regarding mark sheet printing in the state. If not, legal action will be initiated, said company Director VenkatReddy Patil.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he stated that Narayanaswamy made baseless allegations against Urdhva Management because it disrupted the monopoly of a particular company in the mark sheet printing tender process. The mentioned tender process is currently sub judice, and importantly, Urdhva Management has not yet undertaken any mark sheet printing work, he clarified.

Narayanaswamy alleged that work was awarded to a blacklisted company. "How is it possible to blacklist a company that hasn’t even executed any work?" questioned VenkatReddy Patil, challenging Narayanaswamy to provide documents proving blacklisting, including when and where it occurred.

Urdhva Management is a multifaceted company offering services like training, public engagement, bulk supply, and printing. All service details are publicly available. "Without reviewing any facts and seemingly speaking on behalf of a monopolistic company, he has leveled false allegations. He also claimed that 20–25 cases have been filed against Urdhvha and me. But the list he submitted refers to hearing dates, not case numbers," Patil added, criticizing Narayanaswamy’s lack of understanding of judicial processes.

Clarification on Tender Process:

Refuting Narayanaswamy’s allegations, Patil stated: “We were declared the L1 (lowest bidder) in the said tender. The tender conditions mandated a single bid from each participant. Our quoted rate was only 5% higher than the ongoing supply rate through MSIL (a Karnataka Government enterprise). After discussions, our final agreement rate was 3% lower than the current supply rate. Hence, our pricing was fully competitive and compliant with the rules.”

"Despite being the L1 bidder, we were denied the tender for reasons unknown and without an opportunity to be heard. This is against the principle of natural justice. As a result, we have approached the High Court for relief. The legal process began as early as February 2025," he added.

Narayanaswamy’s claim that the company was blacklisted and made other such allegations, Patil said, must be either proven or withdrawn. Otherwise, legal proceedings will be initiated.

Baseless Allegations to Benefit Monopoly:

“Tenders for university mark sheet printing are floated through MSIL. A single company had created a monopoly. Since we emerged as L1, their monopoly was challenged. Interestingly, the same company was granted a one-year extension. Did the opposition leader know this?” he asked. "The language of his statements suggests that they are intended to benefit the monopolistic company," he alleged.

VenkatReddy Patil demanded that Narayanaswamy provide evidence for all allegations made against Urdhva Management, including correspondence related to the tender. "Were these letters written by him, his staff, or under the influence of a business interest? That needs investigation," he demanded.

“The baseless accusations have damaged my credibility and affected my relationships with family and friends, who now look at me with suspicion,” Patil said. “I am ready to face any consequences if the allegations are proven true. If not, legal action will follow,” he warned.

No Relation to Minister:

Narayanaswamy also alleged that Urdhvha Management is owned by a close relative of Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil. “That is completely false. I have no relation to the Minister. These claims are being made merely because I happen to be from his constituency,” Patil clarified.
