 Governor Thawarchand Gehlot Raises Concerns about Rising Youth Diabetes Cases





Bengaluru, June 4: Governor Thawarchand Gehlot expressed deep concerns regarding the increasing prevalence of diabetes among young people. 

During a speech at the inauguration of *"Bangalore Diabetes and Eye Hospital"* on Thimmaiah Road, he highlighted the alarming statistics, stating that one out of every three individuals is currently affected by diabetes. This worrisome trend necessitates urgent attention and action.

Governor Gehlot emphasized the importance of following medical advice and adopting healthy habits, such as practising yoga, to prevent the onset of diabetes. He warned that diabetes if left unmanaged, can lead to severe complications affecting vital organs like the eyes and kidneys. Regular check-ups and strict adherence to medical guidance are crucial in maintaining good health and managing the condition effectively.

In his remarks, Governor Gehlot commended the efforts of Shraddha Eye Care and the diabetes club for their services to the economically disadvantaged sections of society. He expressed the need to strive for the World Health Organization's objective of "health for all" through cost-effective and high-quality healthcare.

*Padmasri Anil Kumble, a trustee of the Shraddha Eye Care Trust*, pledged the organization's commitment to delivering affordable and excellent healthcare services to all segments of society. He affirmed their dedication to preventing anyone from falling victim to diabetes and its associated complications.


The occasion was graced by the presence of City Police Commissioner Dayanand, Managing Trustee of Shraddha Eye Care Prof. Dr. SriGanesh, Founder Trustee Dr. Suman Shree Ramaswamy, trustees Dilip Surana, K.G. Raghavan, and Secretary Dr Karthik Munichoodappa, along with other dignitaries.
